WSPR and Propagation Studies

WSPR kit summary

My WSPR kit is a dedicated transmitter, a dedicated receiver, and a Raspberry Pi that coordinates transmissions, logging, and uploads. The TX runs low‑power beaconing; the RX captures wide receive footprints for SNR and decode analysis. Time sync is provided by NTP (or GPS where available) to ensure accurate timestamps for HAMSci contributions.

QO‑100 Project — DX Patrol, Langstone, Pluto+ and Portable Build

Project objective

Become reliably active on the QO‑100 amateur transponder for SSB and digital operation by deploying:

  • a DX Patrol system was used as the initial ground station;
  • a Langstone system based on a Raspberry Pi was used to conrol a Pluto+ (ADALM‑Pluto or derivative) SDR RF Deck.
  • a compact portable uplink for field activation and demonstrations is also underconstruction

The aim is operational stability, repeatable alignment procedures, and easy on‑air activity.
